What you need before you start

Six steps

How do you place a cricket bet on Goexch?

The steps are the same for every cricket market, whether you're betting on the IPL winner, a batter's score or the next session.

  1. Step 1 of 6

    Find the match

Log in and open Cricket. Live matches sit at the top, with upcoming fixtures and tournaments such as the IPL below. Tap a match to see every market for it, including match odds, sessions and fancy markets.

  2. Step 2 of 6

    Read the odds

Each selection shows a back price and a lay price. Back if you think it will happen, and lay if you think it won't. Multiply your stake by the odds to get your total return if a back bet wins.

  3. Step 3 of 6

    Fill in the bet slip

Tap a price and it opens in the bet slip. Enter your stake. The slip shows your potential return for a back bet, or your liability for a lay bet, which is what you'd pay if the selection wins.

  4. Step 4 of 6

    Check and confirm

Before you confirm, check the match, the market, back or lay, and the stake. Prices can move while the slip is open, so look at the odds once more. Once a bet is matched it can't be cancelled.

  5. Step 5 of 6

    Follow it live

Your bet appears in your open bets. During the match prices change ball by ball, and the market is often suspended for a few seconds after a wicket or a review.

  6. Step 6 of 6

    See how it settles

Bets settle on the official result. Once the result is confirmed, winnings go to your balance. If the match is abandoned with no result, match odds bets are void and your stake comes back.

Worked example

What does a cricket bet look like in the bet slip?

These use example prices for an India v Australia match. Real odds change all the time.

Example bet slipBack

India v Australia · Match odds

India to win

Odds
1.85
Stake
₹200
If India win
+₹170
If India don't win
−₹200
Example bet slipLay

India v Australia · Match odds

India not to win

Odds
1.90
Stake
₹200
If India don't win
+₹200
If India win (liability)
−₹180

A back bet returns stake × odds, so ₹200 at 1.85 returns ₹370, which is ₹170 profit. A lay bet's liability is stake × (odds − 1), so laying ₹200 at 1.90 risks ₹180.

Avoid these

What are the most common first-bet mistakes?

Pressing lay when you meant back

Lay is a bet against the selection. If you think a team will win, use the back price.

Picking the wrong market

Match odds, sessions and fancy markets sit on the same page. Read the market name before you tap a price.

A typing slip in the stake

₹1,000 instead of ₹100 is easy to miss on a phone. Read the potential return or liability before you confirm.

Raising stakes after a loss

Keep every stake the same size. Chasing a loss with a bigger bet usually makes it worse.

Support

How do I know my bet was placed?

It appears in your open bets as soon as it's matched. After the match settles, winnings are added to your balance.

Can I cancel a bet once it's placed?

No. Once a bet is matched on the exchange it can't be cancelled, so check the market, back or lay, and your stake before you confirm.

Is there a limit on how much I can bet?

The maximum depends on the market and how much is available to match at your price. Big markets such as IPL match odds usually take larger stakes than smaller fancy markets.

What is the best market for a first cricket bet?

Match odds. You're only answering who wins, the price is easy to read, and it settles on the official result.

What happens to my bet if it rains?

Match odds settle on the official result, including results decided by DLS. If the match is abandoned with no result, match odds bets are void and your stake is returned.
