Markets explained

Which esports markets can I bet on?

These six cover most esports betting. Not every market runs on every game: rounds belong to the shooters, and kills and objectives to the MOBAs.

Match winner

Pick the team that wins the series. In a best of three, that's the first team to win two maps.

Map winner

Back a team to win one particular map. Teams have favourite maps, so a weaker side can be a good bet on its own pick.

Map handicap

The favourite starts a map or more behind on the line. At −1.5 maps in a best of three, it has to win 2-0.

Total maps

Will the series go the distance? Over 2.5 maps in a best of three wins if the match finishes 2-1.

Total rounds or kills

Over or under a line for rounds in a CS2 or Valorant map, or kills in a Dota 2 or League of Legends game.

First blood and first objective

Which team gets the first kill, or takes the first tower, dragon or pistol round. These settle within minutes.

Games

Which esports games are on Goexch?

Two tactical shooters and two MOBAs. They play very differently, so the markets that make sense change from game to game.

Esports games on Goexch compared
Game	Type	How a map is won	Popular markets	Biggest event
CS2	Tactical shooter	First to 13 rounds	Map winner, total rounds, pistol round	CS2 Majors
Dota 2	MOBA	Destroy the enemy Ancient	First blood, total kills, map winner	The International
Valorant	Tactical shooter	First to 13 rounds	Map winner, map handicap, total rounds	VCT Champions
League of Legends	MOBA	Destroy the enemy Nexus	First dragon, total kills, map winner	LoL Worlds

Formats

What does best of three mean in esports?

Most esports matches are a series of maps. In a best of three, the first team to win two maps takes the match. Group games are sometimes a single map, and finals are often best of five.

The format matters for map handicap and total maps bets, so check it before you bet.

Worked example

Team A vs Team B, best of three

A wins 2-0: A −1.5 maps wins. Under 2.5 maps wins.
A wins 2-1: B +1.5 maps wins. Over 2.5 maps wins.

A match winner bet on Team A wins in both cases.

In-play

What moves esports odds during a match?

Prices update between rounds and as the game goes on. These are the things that shift them most.

Map veto
Each team picks and bans maps before the series. A team playing its best map is priced shorter.
Economy rounds
In CS2 and Valorant, a team saving money for a round is likely to lose it, and the price knows that.
Early objectives
First towers, dragons and kills in Dota 2 and League of Legends often decide the gold lead.
Side switch
Shooters swap attack and defence at half-time, and some maps favour one side heavily.

Side by side

Which esports market should I pick?

Markets that land more often pay less. Start with the match winner, then move to map markets once you know the teams' map pools.

Esports betting markets compared
Market	How often it lands	Good for
Match winner	Depends on the gap between the teams	Beginners and clear favourites
Map winner	Depends on the map	Fans who know each team's map pool
Total maps	About half the time	Evenly matched teams
Map handicap	Less often for the favourite	Strong favourites at a better price
First blood	About half the time	Quick results early in a map

Yes. Live markets stay open through the series and prices update between rounds and as the game goes on. You can also trade out by laying a selection you've backed while the market is open.

Live betting guide

What does best of three mean?

The match is played over up to three maps, and the first team to win two takes the series. A 2-0 ends after two maps, while a 2-1 goes the full distance.

What happens if a team doesn't play?

Esports bets settle on the official result at the end of the match. If a team you bet on doesn't take part, the bet is void and the stake goes back to your balance.

Betting rules

How fast are esports winnings paid?

Bets settle once the official result is in, and winnings go straight to your Goexch balance. You can then request a withdrawal to a bank or UPI account in your name.
