Why it matters
Most people who lose more than they meant to don't do it in one big bet. It happens through small decisions: one more deposit, one more market, one more over. A limit set in advance makes those decisions for you, on a day when you're thinking clearly.
Start strict. It's easier to loosen a limit that turned out too tight than to tighten one after a bad week.
Your options
A daily, weekly or monthly cap on how much you can add. Once you reach it, further deposits are blocked until the period resets.
Your own stop-loss for one fixture. Decide it before the match and stop betting on that game once you reach it.
A short pause on your account, useful after a losing run or before a long tournament. It ends on the date you choose.
A reminder of how long you've been active, so a session doesn't run longer than you meant.
Blocks your own access for a set period or permanently. You can't bet or deposit while it's in place.
There's no settings menu or form to fill in. Your account manager applies the limit to your ID straight away.
Four steps
Pick a deposit limit, cool-off, reminder or self-exclusion. For a limit, decide the amount and whether it's daily, weekly or monthly. For a break, decide how long.
Use WhatsApp from the mobile number registered to your ID, and include your Goexch ID. Support is open 24/7.
Your account manager applies it to your ID straight away and confirms in the same chat. Keep that message for your records.
Compare what you've spent with the limit. If it felt tight, that's usually a sign it's working.
Hi, please set a weekly deposit limit of ₹1,000 on my Goexch ID [your ID]. Please confirm here once it's active.
Change the amount and period to suit you, and add your ID.
Picking a number
Start with what's left each month once rent, bills, food and savings are covered. A monthly limit of 5% to 10% of that is a sensible first setting. With ₹10,000 spare, that's ₹500 to ₹1,000 a month.
Never count borrowed money, credit or money meant for someone else. If there's nothing left after essentials, the right limit is zero.
Limit planner
A starting point of 5% to 10% of spare money. Go lower if you've lost more than you meant to before.
Your own rule
A deposit limit caps the month. A loss limit caps a single match, so one bad game doesn't spill into the next market or the next fixture. You set it yourself and stick to it.
Pick the most you're willing to lose on one match before it starts. When you're down that much, stop betting on that game, even if there are overs or sessions left.
Example
If you keep raising your limit, chase losses, borrow to bet or hide your betting from people close to you, take a longer break with self-exclusion and talk to someone.
